6 tips on how to avoid binge eating after you smoke weed
So you like to get high on marijuana, but you don’t want to gain weight. Welcome to the club. Here are the six best tips that the internet, and myself, can offer on how you can avoid this problem too.
1. Set a Track
Make sure you know what you’re going to do and eat after you get high. Because you won’t be able to say no to whatever is in front of you, and decision making in general becomes extremely difficult.
2. Try Brushing Your Teeth
People on Reddit say this works, and I trust those kinds of potheads.
3. Buy the Right Groceries
This one comes from Tracey Egan Morrisey’s book, Pot Psychology: How to Be:
“The key to not eating like a dog with opposable thumbs is to prepare your snacks in advance of getting high. If you buy a crate of blueberries, you will eat that crate, but at least you won’t be eating a crate of donuts. Or dipping Milano cookies in peanut butter. Or toasting taco shells, breaking them up, and making nachos out of them. Or eating ramen noodles raw.”
4. Find a Distraction
Like smoking a cigarette!
5. Realize it’s all In Your Mind
Jezebel wrote about a study in which scientists learned that people who smoke weed tend to have smaller waists and better cholesterol levels. You might be thinner than you believe in your weed-addled brain!
6. Drink Seltzer
Reddit taught me: “flavored seltzer water fills you up but also titillates your taste buds,” one user wrote in a forum that dealt with this same question.
