The Church of Scientology is known for its famous members such as Tom Cruise, John Travolta, and Kirstie Alley. But over the years, group of celebrities have left the faith — including Cruise’s ex-wives Nicole Kidman and Katie Holmes. Scientology is having a hard time right now, trying to stay relevant and all. In fact, only 25 famous people still belong to the church. Below, you’ll find a list of every known celebrity who claims membership as of today.
1. Alanna Masterson
Alanna plays Tara on AMC’s The Walking Dead. Her father was excommunicated by the Church of Scientology in 2005, forcing Alanna to cut him out of her life.
2. Catherine Bell
Bell, an actor best known for her role on the TV show “JAG,” has been heavily involved in many Scientology charities throughout the years.
3. Nancy Cartwright
In January 2009, Cartwright used Bart’s voice in an automated telephone message to Scientologists, inviting them to an event in Hollywood, California. Because she is the voice behind Bart Simpson.
4. Tom Cruise
Tom was an outspoken advocate for the religion, fiercely defending its questionable practices and beliefs in a series of bizarre instances, like when he banished his 14-year-old niece from family events after catching her on surveillance footage kissing a boy at his estate.
5. Erika Christensen
The 30-year-old Parenthood star has practiced the religion since she was a child and dismissed outrageous claims made about its practice.
6. Jason Lee
The My Name is Earl star Jason Lee, has been a member since he was 19 years old.
7. John Travolta
“Forty years, for me, I’ve been part — and I’ve loved every minute of it. My family has done so well with it. You know? It’s a beautiful thing for me,” John told Good Morning America. “I’ve saved lives with it, and saved my own life several times. Through the loss of my son, it helped me every step of the way for two years solid, and here I am talking to you because of it.”
8. Laura Prepon
Sources say that Prepon’s role on the show Orange Is The New Black, in which she plays a lesbian living life behind bars, could be having an impact on the church of Scientology, and on Prepon’s membership.
9. Anne Archer
In an interview, Anne Archer, a leading Scientologist and actress in Fatal Attraction asked the reporter: “Do I look brainwashed to you?”
10. Juliette Lewis
Juliette was raised in the church, and told a Daily Beast reporter last year that the public is unkind to Scientology because “the mainstream media is funded by pharmaceutical companies, so when you have the biggest movie star in the world at the time—Tom Cruise—coming out against anti-depressants and Ritalin and just saying, ‘Hey, why don’t you put a warning label on there?’ The thing about Scientology is it is anti-drug in that you’re seeking relationship or communication tools—simple basics on how to live better.”

Avatar actor Giovanni Ribisi grew up a Scientologist.
12. Marissa Ribisi
Giovanni’s sister and Dazed and Confused actress Marissa also grew up in the church.
13. Jenna Elfman
Jenna tweeted this about why she’s chosen the Church of Scientology: “What is important to me? I give a damn about making the world a better place. I care about seeing others smile with genuine happiness. I think the world needs more of that. I’m not interested in sensationalism.”
14. David Campbell
David is an arranger, composer and conductor. He has been a Scientologist for 45 years.

The actress confirmed to Howard Stern that she reached the OT-7 level in the church’s hierarchy of achievements. “It means that you have gotten rid of all the things that would create aberrated behavior in you that you didn’t want,” she said. “It’s an awareness level,” she continued. “It’s an achievement.”
