Victoria’s Secret hired these new WOC models for its fashion show this year
Casting for the 2017 Victoria’s Secret fashion show has finally been announced, and while the verdict’s still out on whether Kendall or the Hadids will be gracing the catwalk with their presence, there is some good news.
While the majority of the actual VS Angels are still white, the majority of the new models hired to walk in the show this year are women of color.
Specifically 7 out of 13, which is 54%.

Mayowa Nicholas
Aiden Curtiss
Gizele Oliveira and Bruna Lírio (who just so happen to be BFFs)

For the record, we still mean what we said last year about generally being over the VS fashion show, but since it’s not disappearing overnight, neither will our coverage on it.
Plus, this new development definitely helps it gain relevance. But still, where are the curvy girls? Hopefully they’ll surprise us.
