Melina DiMarco is an American Model who believes that it is imperative to encourage diversity throughout the industry. She advocates for the empowerment of the female form throughout her work, embracing nudity as art and expression beyond sexual assumptions; the body within a sexual context is not shameful, but is the reality of human nature. In the q+a below, Melina answers some of our favorite #GaloreGirl beauty questions.
The most important beauty product for festival season?
I have yet to attend festival season, but I would imagine a pocket sized deodorant could be super useful.
What’s your biggest tip to healthy skin?
Only my future 65 year old self will be able to tell if I am correct, but I like to stay hydrated with a good moisturizer and to always protect with sunscreen!
What skincare products are you in love with right now?
I’m really into Deep Moisture Therapy by Perricone MD right now.
What’s your favorite drugstore product?
Neutrogena Hydrating Makeup Wipes!
How do you keep your hair so healthy?
I’ve never dyed my hair. I’d like to think this won’t happen until I start seeing some grey strands sprinkle in. But even so, the grey might look awesome enough that I would want to rock it. I also think moisture is the answer to everything, so I am going to say that too.
If you could only do one workout forever what would it be?
Pasta bowl lifts? I don’t gym well.
What nail polish color would you be?
If I were to be a nail polish color it would have to be a part of a series. Mainly because I am indecisive. I’d call it: Vagina Advocate. It would include all the diverse colors of vaginas. I really enjoy monochromatic tones.
What’s the sexiest piece of clothing you own?
I have this t-shirt from Zara that says “NO SELFIES ALLOWED.” It makes me feel really sexy and comfortable in the present moment.
What’s the secret to the best Instagram post? Or better yet, the secret to the best OOTD pic?
I always find that telling the truth of who you are as a person is the best route to go. Sometimes, aesthetically, that is hard to keep up with. As stated on my IG: the overall color of my IG is not ideal. Telling a story through my work is always a priority. I like to post for myself, rather than trying to think about what people would want to see.
If you had to wear one outfit for the entire year of 2016, what would it be?
Anything from Oak and Fort. Seriously.
