Meet Ifrah Khan, the Founder Building an Anti-Doomscrolling App for People With Muslim Roots

Musly Club has a 50,000 applicant waitlist and one goal: get you off your phone and into a real conversation

Most apps want more of your screen time. Musly Club wants less of it. Founded by Ifrah Khan, Musly Club is a private members’ club for creative, influential and ambitious people with Muslim roots. Its app hands members relevant connections quickly, then moves them offline to intimate dinners, salons and city activations in places like Dubai, London, Paris, New York and Los Angeles.

Khan’s entrepreneurial streak started early. In third grade, a school invention assignment turned into a full prototype and a self-filmed ad. She launched her first startup at 20, spent her twenties building, failing and trying again, and bootstrapped Musly Club from its earliest days while running its social media herself.

The result is a community that brings together Turkish, Lebanese, South Asian and dozens of other backgrounds under one cultural umbrella. Musly Club now counts more than 4,000 paying members, 50,000 applicants and 91,000 Instagram followers, and has partnered with Harrods and been featured in Vogue Arabia.

The connections are real. Two members became co-founders after meeting through the club, a couple met at a Musly Club event and investor relationships have formed through club programming. When Khan opened a funding round to a select group of members, several invested without even needing a phone call. “Your members becoming your investors is probably the strongest form of belief a company can receive,” she says.

Next up: partnerships with entertainers, creators and major brands built to give members one-of-a-kind experiences, plus AI designed to understand who each member should know and why.

“The future of belonging is global,” Khan says. “Home is no longer just where you live. It is also where you feel understood.”
