The Vibrant Mariah Angeliq Is Ready To Take Over The World Once Again
Miami is a multicultural city, with art everywhere. What was it like growing up in such a musically rich place, with influences from different Latin countries and how has this impacted your art?
Growing up in Miami was everything. It’s such a vibe and music is literally everywhere. From the streets to the clubs to the culture. Being surrounded by so many different Latin influences, from Cuban to Puerto Rican to Colombian, shaped me not just as an artist but as a person.
Miami gave me this deep appreciation for mixing sounds and styles, which is why my music reflects that fusion. I pull from reggaeton, Latin pop, and even urban vibes because that’s what Miami feels like; little bit of everything coming together to create something powerful and unique. It’s home, and it’s always in my art.
Brazilian music occupies a special place in your career. Your collaborations with singers Luísa Sonza and Ludmilla have been huge hits on digital platforms, and your choreographies have conquered social media. How did these collaborations come about?
Brazil has such a special vibe, and its music is full of energy and soul. Working with artists like Luísa Sonza and Ludmilla was amazing. They’re incredibly talented and bring so much passion to what they do.
Those collaborations came about because we vibed musically and wanted to create something that connected our cultures. It’s crazy how much love the songs and choreographies have received on social media — I feel like Brazilian fans have this next-level of energy.
Have you listened to any Brazilian artists recently?
Recently, I’ve been listening to more Brazilian artists than usual! I’m obsessed with Anitta, of course she’s iconic but I’m also loving what people like IZA and L7NNON are doing. Brazilian music has this sickening rhythm and melody that always inspires me.
Out of all your music, which song do you most like to perform at concerts currently?
That’s such a hard question because I love all my songs, but if I had to choose, it’s probably “Perreito“. There’s just something about the energy of that track, it always gets the crowd hyped, and I can feel the connection with my fans every time I perform it. It’s such a vibe, and I love seeing everyone dancing and singing along. It’s a reminder of why I do what I do.
In your experience as an artist, what part of your job do you find least enjoyable?
Honestly, I love what I do, and I’m so grateful for everything, but if I had to pick something, l’d say the lack of personal time. Being on the road, doing interviews, and always being “on” can be exhausting.
It’s hard to find balance when your schedule is so crazy, and you’re constantly moving. I miss spending time with my family and having those quiet moments to just breathe and recharge. But at the end of the day, I know it’s all worth it because I’m doing what I love and connecting with my fans.
You recently surprised your followers by sharing a photo showing the before and after of your body. Apart from physical exercise, what’s your grooming routine like?
Sharing that photo was really about showing my journey and how much l’ve grown, inside and out. Apart from working out, I like to keep my grooming routine simple but consistent. I focus a lot on skincare, hair treatments, and of course staying hydrated and trying to eat clean always. But I need my Pan con Bistec & Tres Leches every now and then for the soul LOL.
Whether in the visuals for your music videos or in your photos, your outfits are always vibrant and colorful. How do you define your style?
My style is bold, unapologetic, and full of attitude — just like me! I love experimenting with vibrant colors, unique cuts, and statement pieces because fashion is another way for me to express myself.
Whether it’s streetwear, something sexy, or even edgy, I always make sure it feels true to who I am. My outfits reflect my energy and my music. They’re a mix of confidence, femininity, and a little bit of rebellion. It’s all about standing out and owning who you are.
What’s Mariah Angeliq like out of the spotlight?
Out of the spotlight, I’m just Mariah. The quiet, antisocial, down to earth, lover girl from Hialeah that eats up the whole fridge at 2am and can’t stop listening to Justin Bieber.
What can your fans expect from your upcoming releases?
I have a huge secret collaboration coming… stay tuned for Mariah Angeliq 2025!
