HOW IS YOUR CREATIVITY DISRUPTING THE INDUSTRY?
In terms of language learning, many people told me my content reminds them that learning a new language is a lot of fun. A lot of teachers told me my creativity inspires them to add more spice, fun, and personality to their lessons. Teaching language isn’t just about grammar exercises and writing long, boring essays (which I hated when I was in school).
In the content creator community, I want to show people that creativity comes from real life. Remember what you’re good at, and don’t be afraid to show your authentic self. I call my audience “besties” because whenever I create new content, I think about how I would record a video for my closest friends in a group chat.
WHAT INSPIRED YOUR LANGUAGE SERIES ON SOCIAL?
I was a part-time Chinese teacher while studying in Portugal, and my students often asked me how to say funny words in Chinese. One day, I got the idea to post these on TikTok. I never expected so many people to show so much love for my series! Now I’m really happy that I can bring so much joy to people who are learning Chinese and made many people willing to learn Chinese XOXO.
WHAT BEAUTY PRODUCT ARE YOU OBSESSED WITH?
I’m super obsessed with lip gloss! OMG, especially a pretty one. For me, lip gloss isn’t just about making my lips look juicy and delicious; it’s a fashion accessory. Whenever I go to parties, I always take at least one lipstick and one lip gloss with me. In the middle of the party, I ask my friends to turn the flash on, and I start touching up my lipstick in the crowd. And then… all eyes on me! That’s when I know I’m that bitch. PERIOD.
WHAT DOES PRIDE MEAN TO YOU?
For me, pride means to be the authentic yourself and remember who you are. When you remember who you are and what is your dream, nothing can stop you or turn you down.
WHAT IS YOUR PHILOSOPHY ON SELF LOVE?
To be very honest, this is something I have been working on so hard in the past few years. Loving yourself is complicated and simple at the same time. I think my philosophy on self love is: when you are struggling with your emotions and being harsh to yourself, remind yourself how much you are accomplished and what is your biggest dream. There are always good days ahead. Forgive your past and slay another day. PERIOD!
WHAT ARE GREEN FLAGS YOU LOOK FOR IN A PARTNER?
I’m a loud and dramatic person, so I like shy boys. OMGGG. If the person is Chinese, a green flag is if he likes Northeast China comedy sketches because I love using my accent to make people laugh. If the person is not Asian, I’m very impressed if he has a good knowledge of Asian countries’ traditions and cultures. Eating spicy food is a huge green flag for me; I don’t like weak bitches, lol. A secret: I can fall in love with boys who listen to Christina Aguilera or City Pop music so easily.
YOU LIVE BETWEEN LISBON AND ASIA WHAT ARE YOUR GO TONSPOTS IN BOTH COUNTRIES?
In the past 6 years, I spent most of my time in Lisbon. In Lisbon I love Pastéis de Belém, beautiful place with the iconic original Pastéis de Nata. For the nightlife I love Trumps Club, it’s a queer club with amazing Drag Queen shows. Their drag queens are my good friends. Their energy is just so amazing and inspiring!! Shout out to Lola Bunny and her iconic drag queen friends. They are the stars of Lisboeta night life. When I’m in Shanghai, I go to Yang’s Shengjian (Dumplings) at least once every two days. They have amazing Shengjian Bao!
A TIK TOK TREND YOU FIND CRINGE?
I think the cringe trend for me is those TikTokers act like they are being arrested and act cute, oh gosh please don’t bring it back.
HOW WAS IT MEETING RIHANNA AND WHAT ADVICE DID THE QUEEN OF BEAUTY SHARE WITH YOU?
It was my moment for life ! She is such a bumble, talented, down to earth artist & a sweet friend. I was very nervous before I met her(who wouldn’t lol) But she and her team made me feel so comfortable and we had such a great time!! When I saw her shanghai trip video using our Chinese audio I cried.
Her behaviors inspired me so much, it is probably the best advice I got from her. During her Shanghai trip she is so kind to everyone she met and she remembers everyone! She truly appreciates Chinese culture and the love from her fans. She is always willing to learning new things and she is really a fast learner! She is so gorgeous inside and out. Her makeup is FLAWLESS!
WHAT YOUR FAVORITE FENTY PRODUCT?
Bestieee, it is so hard to choose only one ahahah. At this moment, I’m really obsessed with the Cheeks Out Blush, it blends out so nicely and lasts so well. It always helps me to create a super natural makeup look.
WHAT IS NEXT FOR YOU?
I would love to continue sharing my knowledge of Chinese language and culture. I am thinking about doing more cooking videos and bad bitch vlogs. Something people may not know about me is that I’m a good cook and I really love to cook!! I would also do more makeup tutorials cuz that’s what my besties have been asking for!
