Daus Mendoza has created a huge online community of over 5 million supporters who tune into his daily talks on beauty, lifestyle and everything in between. We chatted with Daus about his start in content creating, must have beauty products and much more!

Talk to us about how you got into the beauty space.
It all started with YouTube. I always watched beauty videos growing up and had such an interest in both beauty and fashion, so that’s what started it all.
What is your beauty philosophy?
When it comes to makeup, I think it’s best to enhance your natural features and what fits you best. Whenever I’m doing makeup, especially on someone else, I never copy & paste the same look- I’ll always alter the look to what flatters them and their natural features.
What beauty products are a must for acne prone skin?
I think the Murad Acne line is simply the best for skin prep, it’s my favorite. In terms of makeup, I love the Haus Labs Triclone Skin Tech Foundation because this whole line has so many skincare and acne-friendly ingredients.
What is your favorite lip gloss?
My all-time favorite is the NYX Fat Oil in the shade Supermodel!
You have worked with many beauty brands over the years, do you have any plans of launching your own?
Hopefully! I’d love that but we’ll see!
Let’s talk about nails! Where do go, what length, we need the tea!
I always go with my girl, Anastasia! I never go longer than like one inch for the length, but I always love mixing up the vibe of my sets. So, one set I’ll go more natural, and the next will be wild & fun!
How is your content disrupting the beauty Industry as a Latin x creator?
I think it’s my honesty that has carved a place for me in the beauty industry. A lot of creators may just try to sell a product and tell viewers what they want to hear but my biggest thing is always giving an honest, authentic review!
What beauty advice has your mom or abuela given you that you’ll always stand by?
My mom always said “la mona aunque se vista de ceda, mona se queda” growing up and it’s always stuck with me, I love it!
What is one beauty hack only Latinas would get?
Curling your eyelashes with a spoon. It’s definitely not easy but I’ve seen some girls do it and it turns out sooo good without ruining your lashes!
What is one beauty item every girl should keep on them at all times?
Lip gloss always, but I do love to have a mini perfume on me too!
What drugstore beauty product never fails you?
The NYX lip liner in the shade Natural, it’s my absolute favorite!
What beauty trend is so cringe and which is so in right now?
I think the “strawberry” or “latte” makeup, I feel like it’s just adding a little more bronzer or a little more blush- I don’t think it actually makes that big of a difference. But a trend I’m loving right now is lots of blush, I’m so glad that it’s back in and everyone is using it!
What are your go to glam products for a night out with the girls?
The One Size Beauty “On Til Dawn” setting spray always, the Kylie Cosmetics lip liner in the shade “Comes Naturally”, and NYX Fat Oil in the shade Supermodel.
What song is on repeat while doing glam?
Outside by Sexyy Red!
What is next for you for the rest of 2024?
Definitely traveling, because I’ve been doing a lot more of that this year and working on a few exciting upcoming launches!
