We all need a bestie like Larsa Pippen

You may recognize Larsa from being besties with the Kardashians or the Real Housewives of Miami. Larsa took a quick break from the beaches and gyms of Miami to hang out with Galore in sunny LA to dish about female friendship and even give us some thoughtful advice.

It seems like you and the Kardashians really have each other’s backs. Do you have advice on being a good friend and how to make new female friends?

Friendship involves time and truly being there for each other. You are each other’s rock and show up for them, regardless of crazy schedules and everything else that life entails.

Loyalty is also an important quality in any relationship. If you want a good friend, you have to be loyal to your friends and have their backs. Have their back. That’s how it works.

All of my relationships have been really long-lasting. I’m not the type of person who has short-term relationships, and this says a lot about who I am. All of my friends, I’ve had forever. With my marriage, we’ve stuck it out for a long time and make it work because we’re loyal to each other. I always try to do the best that I can with all of my relationships.

It’s easy and beneficial to use your daily interests to meet people. I meet people at the gym and through other hobbies and activities that I like to do. The best way to meet friends is through other friends.

How do you know when you meet a girl if she’s friendship material? Have you ever trusted a girl when you shouldn’t have?

I think that we have all trusted someone that we thought had our best interest at heart. I am a trusting person and enter every new relationship with an open mindset. I give everyone the benefit of the doubt, unless you give me a reason not to.

Did you face challenges on Real Housewives of Miami representing you in a way you didn’t feel was true to you?

I feel like I didn’t have anything in common with the other women on the Real Housewives of Miami and the show did not reflect my true self as a person. It was not a representation of who I really am. The media can certainly spin things, but it becomes white noise and I am confident in who I am.

How do you balance being famous and being a mom?

Being a mom is my number one priority! I live a very structured life and plan everything. My kids’ lives are very scheduled. If I have to leave town, I make sure that I have arrangements for my kids and facilitate everything that needs to be done. These are also skills that I teach my kids. Micromanaging your schedule is very important. Little Scottie travels out of state for basketball once a week and has learned the value of scheduling.

Your kids are absolutely adorbz. What is a piece of advice you would like them to know that you wish you knew when you were younger?

Try everything when you’re young. Don’t be afraid to fail. Pursue opportunities regardless of fear and never give up on your dreams.

What does Miami do better than LA?

We bikini better than LA and have that Miami glow!

Your body is goals. What are some of your workout tips?

Working out is a vibe! Vary your routine because it targets different body parts and keeps you interested. I do kickboxing, yoga, Pilates, running, etc. Every day is a new day. Working out isn’t just good for the body, it’s great for the mind as well. It puts me in the right mood to start my day.

Be honest: do you wear makeup to the gym or errands like the supermarket?

I never wear makeup during the day. It’s healthy to let your skin breathe, especially while working out.

Are you obsessed with a certain fashion trend right now?

I love vintage t-shirts that are cut up. They make you look like a rock star and they’re comfortable to wear.

What’s your current beauty secret?

I’m really into Sunday Riley right now!

Is there a song you would totally sing and/or dance to in the shower?

“It’s A Vibe” by 2 Chainz. When I’m into a song, I love quoting the lyrics on my Instagram. I become that song.

What advice would you give on surviving life in the spotlight?

Don’t veer from who you are. Just because someone’s character isn’t up to par, doesn’t mean that you should stoop to that level and act that way. If you are true to who you are, then you have no regrets. That’s kind of how I live my life.
