JARRED VANDERBILT IS MORE THAN HIS CAREER AS A BASKETBALL STAR

Houston native Jarred Vanderbilt is not only an LA Laker, but a fashion icon in the making. When he’s not on the court he’s working hard to make his mark in the men’s fashion industry from working with the top designers, traveling all over the world to find exclusive pieces and he’s just getting started. I sat down with Jarred to get a little more insight into his love for fashion and what we can expect from him in this lane.

FEATURE INTERVIEW:

You’ve been playing basketball for the LA Lakers for the past year as a power forward at only 25-years-old. Talk to us about your love for basketball and what your experience has been like so far in LA.

Playing for the Lakers in LA has been an incredible experience. It’s a dream come true to be a part of such a storied franchise and to represent this city on the court.

Your love for fashion is just as strong as your love for basketball and we get a glimpse into your personal style via your social media or game day outfits. Tell us about your style evolution over the years and what you would describe your everyday go to look as.

I’ve always been into fashion, and my style has evolved over the years, but I describe it as versatile and timeless. I opt for pieces that can transcend eras and be styled in multiple ways.

Last month you attended the Vanity Fair Oscar Party rocking Dolce & Gabbana. Tell us about how your outfit came together and what you look for when wearing designer pieces.

I had the privilege of collaborating with Dolce & Gabbana on my Vanity Fair look. I chose a silk turtleneck to add a different element to the outfit, and I was pleased with how it turned out.

How was Paris Fashion Week this year? Tell us about the shows you attended, what you wore and your overall experience during PFW.

Paris Fashion Week was a great experience. I had the opportunity to attend some incredible shows, but the Louis Vuitton show stood out. The collection and overall production were top-tier.

Again, Louis Vuitton!

What made you become vegan and how long has your diet been this way?

I’ve been vegan for 4 years now. I initially tried it as a 30-day challenge during Covid, and mind and body responded well. I felt great, so I decided to stick with it.

You started your own non-profit where you focus on assisting minority communities with social, academic and economic awareness. Talk to us about what made you start your foundation and how it lives up to its mission.

My foundation aims to empower minority communities through social, academic, and economic initiatives. I’ve always believed in giving back to my community, and I feel incredibly blessed to be able to make an impact and inspire the youth.

What’s next for Jarred Vanderbilt in the fashion industry?

Stay tuned! I have a lot of exciting projects in the works; there’s more to come.
