Your iPhone Is Probably Giving You Acne

You take your phone everywhere with you — it’s basically an extension of your limbs. From the bathroom to your bedroom and public transportation to restaurants, germs jump all over your phone. And when you use your phone, those germs jump all over your face!

Acne, anyone?

Don’t freak out too much though, there’s a way to keep your phone sanitary without damaging it. Try using a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth to clean your iPhone, advises Apple. But if you do so, it’s important to avoid getting moisture inside any of the phone’s openings.

Apple warns not to use any window cleaners, household cleaners, solvents, aerosol sprays, alcohol, ammonia, or abrasives during the cleaning process. You can, however, use a disinfecting wipe that is made for electronic devices. We like Wireless Wipes ($7) and Windex Electronic Wipes ($8). Another option is a screen protector — it’s safer to clean than the glass on your phone.

If you want to avoid gross germs that cause acne and illness, start wiping!
