Jillian Wallace Rocks a Fitbit Tracker For the Fashion Crowd
With her sleek-but-tough-girl style, Jillian Wallace, a.k.a. @littleblackboots, evokes more fashion than fitness. Which in a way, makes her perfect for the new Fitbit Alta device, which is both a stylish accessory and a highly functional wearable. Below, we talked to Jillian about her health and fitness habits, and how that goes with her signature style.
Describe your personal style.
My style is absent of most colors, filled with everything and anything high-waisted, and I personally believe you can’t ever go wrong with pairing an outfit with boots.
Wearables have become a hot new thing, but seems fashion people are just starting to catch on. Do you have any tips for working them into your look?
I’ve been really impressed by the sleek look of wearables I’ve seen. It makes incorporating one into your normal wardrobe pretty seamless. My suggestion for working one into a look would be to stack on a few bracelets in the same color family. Darker colors are even easier to conceal. Just add some gold and people will be none the wiser!
You are constantly busy in LA, but always looking great. How do you stay in shape?
I always say it’s important to know your strengths and weaknesses. For me, sugar is my kryptonite and the gym bores me to death. Because of this, I don’t keep sweets in the house and I prefer to take classes with lots of movement. And because I’ve made my diet not feel like a diet, I feel no guilt diving into some bread pudding come Saturday.
The rap on people in LA is that we drive everywhere, and never walk. Do you find that to be true?
1,000%. We don’t even go on hikes without driving there first! But I don’t blame us. Good public transportation is like a mythical unicorn we read about in fairytales.
Give us your three secrets to staying healthy and looking great.
1. Invest in a water bottle and take it with you everywhere.
2. Fiercely take care of your skin.
3. Eat often, not a lot, mostly vegetables.
