Codallo And The Beauty of Feeling
Imagined traces gain body, form, and color through the hands of visual artist Anthony Codallo. They say art saves, and he confirms this truth with every piece he creates. His gift guided him through days that demanded more meaning and intensity, becoming ally, refuge, and driving force. Powerful yet tender, his talent offers a delicate caress to every gaze that meets, in his canvases, manifestations of love.

When you’re creating, do you think more about the aesthetic impact or the conversation your work might spark?
That’s a really interesting question… it makes me a bit reflective. When I’m creating, the only thing on my mind is how an emotional state can lead you to create something wonderful. Of course, it’s amazing to make an impact on people, but what I truly hope to do is transmit an attraction to whatever their imagination wants to visualize.

What has been the most challenging piece you’ve ever made and why?
Wow, I’d actually never asked myself that… I love challenges because that kind of emotion always brings out my best versions. I think the most challenging part has been accepting that anxiety — even though it’s such an intense feeling — can also push you to create wonders. I must confess, my biggest challenge was creating a portrait of Pabllo Vittar, for the love of my life.

What inspires your work the most?
Many things inspire me, but I think the love for what I do is my greatest source of inspiration.

In a world oversaturated with images, how do you find your own visual language?
I truly believe every artist has a vision and a signature. Art is a universal language; I express mine through love, passion, and those emotions that make you show yourself in your fullest splendor. I hope to deliver a message that makes the viewer feel unique.
