FEATURE INTERVIEW:

For anyone who only knows you as “Blesiv” on their For You Page, how do you introduce Alex Guzman in real life?

My name is Blesiv on the internet, but in real life, I go by Alex. I’m a normal kid who loves to make people laugh and turn everyday moments into fun, memorable experiences that I share on YouTube. I’m very family-oriented and love spending time with my friends and family. I can never stay serious or sit still; I’m always on the go. I live life spontaneously and love turning serious moments into blissful ones. I truly live in the moment.

You went from posting for fun to building a huge audience across TikTok, YouTube and Instagram. Was there a specific moment when you realized, Okay, my life just changed”?

There were a few moments when I realized social media could be my path. I remember the first time I made $100 from a livestream on Musical.ly, and I couldn’t believe it. My mom was the first person I told, and she was in disbelief. I also did a meet-and-greet tour with a few other creators and ended up selling the most tickets. Seeing how many people showed up to see me in person was a huge moment for me. Meeting my followers and fans made it all feel real. I really knew my life had changed when I was able to buy my mom a house a few years ago.

Youve grown up online in front of millions of people. Whats been the hardest part of that, and whats been the most rewarding?

The hardest part is understanding that people only see what you choose to post online. You have to have thick skin, especially being a personality. At the same time, that’s also the most rewarding part because I control the content I put out, and I get to help people get through their day by making them laugh. It’s super comforting. There was also a phase where I felt stuck in an age gap and didn’t know how to grow with my audience or evolve my content. I didn’t want to show myself partying at 21, so my content stayed the same as when I was 17. That transition and acceptance were hard to understand, but I learned that people will support me no matter what, and I just have to be authentic and be myself.

Youve talked about your roots and family a lot—how has your Latino/Nicaraguan background shaped the way you see yourself and the kind of content you want to put out?

My mom was a big part of my YouTube videos. She played into the Spanglish style content with me, and it was cool seeing other Nicaraguans comment things like, “OMG, my mom is the same way.” Seeing those comments made me feel like what I’m doing is dope and I need to continue embracing my culture. That’s when I put the Nicaraguan flag in my bio. My mom helped me show our culture through our content, and she was a big personality on my channel.

Gen-Z feels super close to creators; they treat you like a friend. How do you keep that real connection while still protecting your own boundaries and mental health?

By continuing to have control on what I put out. It’s always important to be authentic and honest, but with intention. I’ve learned that it’s important to take breaks and check in with myself. I pray, and get right with God, not just when I’m struggling, but also to share my gratitude. I’m also locked in at the gym right now. It started as something that felt like a drag, but now it’s part of my everyday routine. If I don’t hit the gym, I don’t feel right with myself.

Youre not just a social media influencer anymore, youve stepped into music, acting and content creation on a bigger scale. What new lane are you most excited to explore next?

Start my own business, and be smart with my money and put it to work. I’m very blessed to get paid for doing what I love, and I want to keep focusing on that while also investing and letting my money work for me. Haha, I don’t plan to continue music or acting right now, I thought I was some popstar or something back then.

If you could design your dream collab with any creator, artist or brand, no budget limits—what would it look like and what story would you want to tell together?

After going to Paris Fashion Week, I realized I actually have a real love for fashion. I’d love to work with a luxury designer and be part of a campaign, whether that’s through modeling or designing alongside them. I’m also really into fragrance, and creating my own would be a dream. I’m inspired by Pharrell and his creative direction at Louis Vuitton. My style leans more streetwear, so working with a brand like Prada or Louis Vuitton that blends fashion, culture, and streetwear feels very me.

Lets talk style: when youre not filming, whats your off-duty Blesiv uniform? And whats one fashion risk youre dying to try but havent yet?

When I’m off-duty, I’m either sleeping, at the gym, or eating some big-back food, so I’m usually in comfy clothes. Think a black or white tee with sweats or shorts, and always in socks if I’m at home because I’m a no-shoes-in-the-house guy. My fits are pretty relaxed right now, but I like the super oversized, baggy pants trend that’s coming back. I usually dress pretty monotone, mostly in black, so I want to start experimenting with more color. If you look good, you feel good.

You share a lot of your life, but theres still a private side to Alex. Whats something about you that your followers would be genuinely surprised to learn?

People see me as this big, loud personality, but in real life I’m actually introverted and a little awkward. It takes a lot for me to open up to someone and really show my personality!

When you think about the next few years, whats the bigger picture for you beyond views and followers? What do you hope people will say about Blesiv” 10 years from now?

Hopefully I’ve started a business and stayed connected with my community through that. I want to set my family up and help my mom start her business. I just hope I never change and that people always see me as the same guy I am now, genuine, funny, humble, crazy, can’t-sit-still type of guy forever. I always want to leave a positive impact and make people feel comfortable. I’m weird, I make other weird people feel good and comfortable, and I love that.
