These Celebrities Are Actually Tweeting About Police Brutality
In the past 48 hours, two more black men — Alton Sterling and Philando Castile — died at the hands of the police.
And in a somewhat surprising turn, many celebrities are using their platforms to have an open discussion about the aftermath of these events. Tweeting or posting to Instagram might not seem like much, but these celebrities are putting their livelihood at risk by expressing politically driven opinions.
Plus, change will only happen if we speak out, so let’s give these celebs a pat on the back for leading the charge. Take a look at some of their reactions below.
How many more times must this happen for us to matter? How many more must we lose?

If you're a Judge, or a politician or a fellow officer with a Conscience, what does it tell you to do? As a human being what do you feel?

1) In the interest of time, would ye noble patriots please provide a list of infractions punishable by spontaneous public execution? Thanks!

2) Upon receipt of this list, we'll return to our quarters and study up, eager to enjoy freedoms of white mass murders. #LIFEHACK

3) You chumps will NEVER provide this list… We see through you.

The violence that killed Alton Sterling and Philando Castile has become an all too common occurrence for people of color and IT. MUST. STOP.

We need real criminal justice reform so that people can walk down the street without worrying about whether they'll get harassed or shot.

RIP #AltonSterling too disturbing to accept. Taking life away like it's not something we all equally deserve! God protect us all!

He had a right to sell CDs, and a right to due process, but he he was shot for being a black man. Don't rationalize murder. #AltonSterling

Those who fight for the right to carry concealed weapons are surely furious about Sterling's murder, right?? NRA protests outside Police HQ?
— olivia wilde (@oliviawilde) July 6, 2016
We should not have to jump through hoops to prove black people shouldn't be shot by police during routine traffic stops.
