Meet Andrea Astoria — Millennial MILF
Andrea Astoria, 28, and her baby are the stars of our Mother’s Day MILF editorial.
We asked Andrea, a.k.a. @theredbunny, for her tips and tricks on motherhood as she celebrates her first Mother’s Day as mom to Jack Hudson.
What are your signs?
Taurus/Earth. I am very much like the Bull! Jack’s a Virgo.
Are your signs compatible?
Yes! Well, we are both down to earth.
Tell us about your baby’s birth!
It was crazy — I labored for four days! But in the end it was worth to hold this nine-pound baby boy in my arms.
What’s been the biggest adjustment when it comes to being a mom?
That I can’t just throw on red lipstick and cool shoes and be off to an event. Now getting out the door takes at least 30 minutes on a good day.
How do you make sure you’re still looking after yourself as well as your baby?
I have wonderful support from a moms’ group. We do park days and mommy & me baby classes during the weekdays. And usually have a happy hour Friday to talk about our weekly struggles.
What’s the term MILF mean to you?
Age has never bothered me, is just a number. But MILF definitely means that the big boobies are going to be real.
Who’s your favorite MILF from history and why?
If Dolly Parton had kids it would be her.
What’s some of the best mothering advice your mom gave to you?
Breastfeeding, co-sleeping and “progressive learning” — allowing the baby to fall at a low level while learning to crawl and walk. This way they learn balance and don’t really hurt themselves later by falling off the bed.
How has your style changed since becoming a mom? Are you ever tempted to throw on yoga pants and call it a day?
I have always had a uniform (like Karl Lagerfeld), mine consisting of black on black. Now the only thing that changed was I need easy access to the boobies for breastfeeding. So button downs, v-necks, zip up hoodies etc.
How are you celebrating Mother’s Day?
Going home to spend it with my mom.
