It’s Not Your Imagination, Adderall Is Killing Your Libido

If you’ve taken Adderall, you might be familiar with the side effects of dextroamphetamine-amphetamine; feelings of euphoria, increased ability to focus for long periods at a time, and a drastic decrease in appetite are all common to feel during the high.

But since the drug prescribed for those who’ve been diagnosed with ADHD is on the rise among young people without prescriptions, it’s worth acknowledging that Adderall has plenty of negative side effects. And one of them, which we’ll be focusing on here, is a plummeting desire from .

Changes in libido are noted in any explanation of what to expect when taking Adderall. All one has to do is take a look at any description of the drug. Rx.com lists these side effects:

– headache, weakness, dizziness, blurred vision;
– feeling restless, irritable, or agitated,
– sleep problems (insomnia);
– dry mouth or an unpleasant taste in your mouth;
– diarrhea, constipation, stomach pain, nausea, vomiting;
– fever;
– hair loss, loss of appetite, weight loss; or
– loss of interest in getting it on, or impotence.

The note about banging is last, but for many, it might feel like the most important.

“Anxiety and depression-related indicators have been rising for more than half a century, according to a 2009 study [and] more young people are using antidepressants and stimulants, like Adderall, which can kill your sexual appetite,” says a Vice article titled “Why Millennials Aren’t F*cking.”

Not only is it more difficult to feel banging, it’s also pretty unattractive to be tired, constipated, and adderall-skinny. So it’s not in your head.
