Growing Pains Editorial

At a generational level, those of us who were born in the 90s could be condemned to a perpetual adolescence since we are not accessing the milestones related to economic stability that for decades were representative of adulthood. Young adults identify themselves now through consumption, especially of franchises from the years they grew up in, although their purchasing power will not allow them to buy a house, they can buy all the toys and memorabilia they did not have access to as children. The photograph of the couple dividing their collection of beanie babies on the courthouse floor during their divorce seems a good depiction of this cultural ethos.”  Camila Gb
They shoot the photos inside an inflatable and wanted the models to resemble Kids dressed up as adults so Camila Gb, artist and jeweler behind Grosera, did most of the styling with clothes inherited from her parents; Camille Laporte lended them chemises and Izabella Benedetti gave them beautiful hats. They photographed pieces from the Grosera catalog along with pieces like the dogtooth earrings, that were first made years ago but remained on standby until they resurfaced them for this session. The focus in this pictures is in the bone pieces: two bone necklaces, two bone hairpins and the small bone earrings.

All their productions, and this is not an exception, has been done in-house with the help of creative friends. Camila did the Creative Direction, the styling and the jewelry, and the makeup was the art of her best friend and long time collaborator, Thania Diaz. Her friend Melissa Lunar took the pictures amidst the rain. Mariana Palma did an amazing hair, and Natalia did the nails as part of her project “Filosa Nails. María Jorge did video that is soon to come out too. Camila Gb thought of Growing pains as a way to reflect the struggles that come with trying to scale up a project. Since 2022, when the demand for Grosera’s pieces increased, she faced the difficulties of growing her production capacity as a jeweler that does all production herself.
