ESTOY DE NOCHE EDITORIAL

This is the name of the collection and arises from the exploration  of the corridos tumbados culture, along with the aesthetic  fascination for this phenomenon and the dark context that  accompanies it. While researching the state of criminality in  Mexico, we came across the testimony of “Tacita,” a reformed child  hitman with a terrible life story. Estoy de noche or I feel lost  in the night refers to the emotional state of sadness and pain  that Tacita experiences as a consequence of his time in crime.  Amid the death and extreme violence that thousands of children in  Mexico face, there remains the possibility of reentry.

This name commemorates all those who currently endure such  conditions, as well as the general afflictive sentiment of the  country. On a personal level, María hails from a family in a small  village in western Mexico, where this culture has permeated her  background: buchonas, corridos, ranchos and rural life. In her  practice, themes such as family, matriarchy, power, and  materialism are recurring concepts explored through her clothing  and accessories.
