Netflix is on a roll this year coming out with hit after hit, the latest of these being The Get Down, starring Justice Smith, Jaden Smith and Shameik Moore.
Directed by Baz Luhrmann – you may known him as the man behind Romeo and Juliet and Moulin Rouge – the show transports its audience to the culture of the Bronx, New York in the late 1970s through its 70s styling and phenomenal musical accompaniment.
It also chronicles the transition from beloved disco to the birth of hip hop, and sneakily tells the real origin story of Grandmaster Flash, considered to be one of the founding fathers of hip hop djing, mixing and cutting.
