Who, if any, are your muses?
I am often my own muse – trying on your own clothes is often the best way to design, develop and fit your clothes! I am obsessed with Langley Fox right now though; I am making her my springtime muse and adopted sister!
What helps inspire your creativity?
Who are some of your fashion influences?
For dressing – Francoise Hardy, Jane Birkin and Audrey Hepburn – a range! It depends on what mood I am in each day!
What piece from your collection are you most proud of?
It changes every day. I am really proud of our Olivia bag right now. Learning the design process for bags was very different from clothing for me, and I feel like we have truly created an iconic piece!
What piece of yours can’t you live without?
Our over the knee suede boots—-staple!
Who are your fashion influences?
For dressing, Amy Fine Collins! She hast the most incredibly iconic, unique style. For design, original Christian Dior, Schiaparelli, Vivienne Westwood—I like the mix of pretty and punk with a little irony in every collection.
What type of women do you see wearing your clothes?
My whole vision is making a woman feel strong and beautiful. It’s a woman who likes to look pretty and sexy and smart all at once. She never takes herself too seriously either!
Who’s your favorite woman in fashion?
Well, I love that Coco Chanel quote – “Every day is a fashion show and the world is your runway!”. I think about that as I get dressed every day!
What’s the best part about being a woman in fashion?
Having the power and ability to help so many other women—be it in their careers or just in making their asses look hot in a pair of pants every day! 🙂
