What To Expect When You Move To LA According To Britni Sumida
Check out Britni Sumida, our new fall style muse. From a trip out to Joshua Tree for the weekend to exploring the city of angels, this model always looks like she’s on duty. Here’s how she lives like a West Coast model.
What inspires your style?
I’m inspired by 70’s rock stars and western-wear. I usually take a day and hit up local vintage shops to find little treasures. I love anything that has a bit of character to it.
Did you pursue modeling, or were you thrown into it?
I wouldn’t say that I was thrown into modeling. My aunt is a photographer and I was always that goofy kid trying to be in every photo. At some point she started using me as a model for her jobs and the rest is history.
What does a typical Saturday night look like for you?
On Saturdays I typically find myself with friends bar hoping and exploring LA. I’ve been here for a year and I feel like there’s still so much to see. If I’m not in the city I’m probably spending the weekend in Joshua Tree or the nearest desert town. I can’t stay in the city for too long—I go a little crazy.
What’s the one thing you love to do to after a long day shooting?
Crack open a big ass bottle of wine. Let’s be real, one glass always turns into five… Or maybe that’s just me.
What was the hardest adjustment moving from Arizona to LA?
The hardest part about adjusting to LA was dealing with so many people in such a small place. City life in Arizona is equivalent to a small town outside of LA. It’s been interesting adjusting to being around people 25/7. It’s definitely made me more outgoing.
Now that Fall has arrived, what are some tips you can give our readers for Fall trends?
Being from Arizona, dressing for Fall hasn’t been prevalent in my life until now. I just find myself buying fluffy and/or fringe jackets.
