Vigilance & Vodka Are Key This 4th Of July
A nationwide warning to Americans was issued jointly by the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI and the National Counterterrorism Center to remain vigilant this 4th of July considering the recent and growing number of terrorist attacks. June 26th, 2015 was a sad day for many. Three terrorist attacks were carried out across three continents; Tunisia, Kuwait and France were the targeted countries of these attacks. In Tunisia a gunman left at least 38 dead at a beach resort and in Kuwait City a suicide bomber left at least 25 dead and over 200 injured during Friday prayer. ISIS has claimed responsibility for the Kuwait and Tunisia attacks. Due to the latest heightened terrorist activity a warning bulletin titled, “Holiday Celebrations Remain Attractive Target”, has been posted and sent to over 18,000 law enforcement agencies around the country.
But ladies (and gentlemen), don’t let a small and unlikely possibility ruin your Independence Day Celebration. USA Today’s Bill Keveney and Kevin Johnson wrote, “The [FBI warning] bulletins are frequently issued in advance of major U.S. holidays out of an abundance of caution and concern that operatives may exploit the timing to generate greater attention”. In short- these bulletin warnings are issued prior to almost every single holiday, whether it’s a federal, state or even local holiday, so don’t get your panties in a bunch, just remember your two V’s: vigilance and vodka.
Rally your own troops this Saturday and make the most of one of the most prideful celebrations that this nation or any nation for that matter has ever seen. Whether you’re spending quality time with family or spending quality time drowning in vodka in South Lake Tahoe alongside thousands of 20 year old delinquents, show off your pride in your teeny bikini and stay safe.
