Taylor Swift Goes Pop for New “1989” Album

It’s been two years since the release of Taylor’s Red album and it looks like the young musician has finally moved past country and into the world of bubblegum pop. Her new album, 1989, titled after Swift’s date of birth, set to drop October 27th, is inspired by late 80’s pop as is apparent in her latest single from the album, “Shake it Off”. The single is a collaboration between Swift and Max Martin who also had a hand in “We are never ever getting back together” and “22” from Red. The result is like nothing we have ever heard from Swift before though the accompanying video is predictably kitchy and cute. Take a look for yourself and decide, what do you think about Swift’s new direction?
