SZA already beat Taylor Swift and Katy Perry for this 2018 Grammy record

SZA had a bomb ass year in 2017, and she isn’t slowing down.

She has been nominated for FIVE Grammys, making her the most nominated woman for the 2018 Grammy Awards. That puts her ahead of internationally known superstars Katy Perry and Taylor Swift, who both released new albums his year but failed to get as many noms as SZA did.

The categories she’s nominated in are Best New Artist, Best R&B Performance for “The Weekend,” Best R&B Song for “Supermodel,” Best Rap Song for “Love Galore” featuring Travis Scott and Best Urban Contemporary Album for “Ctrl.”

Heavy hitting, hit-making women were snubbed from the major categories this year. Katy Perry and Demi Lovato came out with hit songs or albums, yet none of their names showed up this year. Meanwhile, Taylor Swift was nominated for her collab with Zayn from the “Fifty Shades Darker” soundtrack and a song she wrote but didn’t sing. None of the songs from her latest album made the cut.

SZA has conquered the charts for weeks and her debut CTRL went gold while two of her songs (“The Weekend” and “Love Galore”) went platinum. But that’s not all. SZA now will perform on Saturday Night Live for the first time on December 9 alongside host James Franco.

Sis is having a good year, debatably a better year than her colleague Cardi B, who also has had a steady rise in the music industry and is nominated for a 2018 Grammy. Even though they aren’t in the same category, let’s hope these two stars will shine in the categories they are nominated in.

We are rooting for you Solana.
