It’s The Summer of The Supermodel For H&M
When you think of H&M, chances are you don’t think of supermodels. In fact, scratch that: when you think of H&M, you 100% don’t think of supermodels. However, all of that’s about to change. For their upcoming summer 2015 campaign, the affordable fashion house H&M is bringing out the big guns: Joan Smalls, Natasha Poly, Doutzen Kroes, and Adriana Lima. According to the company’s press release, the supermodels will pose as “action heroes with a mission to get to the shore and celebrate the best of summer.” Naturally.
While even the superest of models can’t do anything to make cheap fabrics look expensive, don’t worry, the task to elevate the line won’t rest entirely on their shoulders as the commercial for the campaign will also exclusively feature the track “Sun Is Shining” by ex-Swedish House Mafia members, Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso.
While the content of H&M’s summer collection hardly seems revelatory (tropical leaf prints, lace-front tunics, kaleidoscopic sundresses, tie-side bikinis), we can’t wait until the campaign is revealed online on April 30th to see if H&M’s gamble actually pays off. While it’s always nice to be right, the only thing more pleasurable is to be pleasantly surprised.
