Sorry to Break it To You But Lower Abs Are Back

Back in the 2000s, lower abs were the most important physical feature a woman could have.

All the it-girls had impossibly flat, toned stomachs which they kept tan all-year-round to really make their muscles pop, and it was almost impossible to duplicate unless you wanted to spend all your free time doing crunches and leg lifts in your bedroom.

Although these days abs have taken a back seat to the all-important ass, just like absolutely everything else from the 2000s, lower ab-exposing fashion is coming back with a vengeance.

Hope you’re ready, because high-waisted pants aren’t going to be here to help you out for much longer.

It goes without saying, but high-waisted pants and abs get along as well as Donald Trump and even-headed civility do.

Sure, if you wear a crop top, you get a chance to showcase your upper abs, but let’s face it, those are child’s play. Anybody who kinda sorta watches what they eat and doesn’t just sit on the couch all day watching TV can have them.

But if you really want to show off your fitness, you have to be brave and throw on a pair of low-rise jeans, because those are the only pants that’ll show off the elusive lower-abs.

Now I know that sounds crazy, but high-waisted pants have been cool for years now and any day now the pendulum is going to swing to the low-rise side.

Honestly, the low-rise revolution is happening all around you.

Early adherents include Bella Thorne.

Now, you may have noticed that all these women happen to be incredibly shredded.

Low-rise pants might increase the pressure to have a flat stomach, but you know what? It’s just a fad.

There’s no rule that says you have to wear everything the celebrities and Insta-hotties of the world wear, so if low-rise pants aren’t your jam, don’t make yourself crazy trying to finesse a perfectly flat stomach.

But if you do wanna participate in this trend, you’ve been warned.
