Selena Gomez Complimented Justin Bieber and Jelena Fans Are Losing It
Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber haven’t been an item for YEARS NOW, but somehow that hasn’t deterred a loyal band of Jelena shippers from stanning them.
Call it dedication or call it delusion, but ride-or-die Jelenas just aren’t ready to give up yet.
Which is why they were sent into an absolute tizzy yesterday when Selena, without being prompted, said something nice about Justin during an interview.

To be fair to Jelena fans, the last we checked, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez weren’t speaking to each other.
If you’ll recall, last August Justin and Selena had a very public fight over Justin’s then-girlfriend Sofia Richie. After Justin posted numerous nearly-identical selfies of them riding in the back of a car, some of his followers started to leave some mean comments.
So Justin Bieber made a logical choice to post another picture of him and Sofia Richie with the comment, “I’m gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don’t stop this hate this is getting out of hand, if you guys are really fans you wouldn’t be so mean to people that I like.”
And out of NOWHERE Selena got in on the action by commenting on the photo saying, “If you can’t handle the hate then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lol – it should be special between you two only. Don’t be mad at your fans. They love you and supported you before any one ever did.”
Things proceeded to get pretty petty after that, with both of them trying to prove who loved their fans more. The fight culminated in Justin deleting his Instagram though, so clearly Selena won. But doesn’t she always?

But a lot’s happened since then.
For instance, Selena has a boyfriend who’s not afraid to kiss her in front of the paparazzi while Justin Bieber is clearly very, very alone.

So during an interview with Sirius XM’s Morning Mashup on Monday, Selena decided it was time to make it clear she’s not mad at her ex anymore.
When asked if she saw how the One Manchester benefit concert turned out, Selena replied:
“It was beautiful. I thought everyone did such a beautiful job. It was so gorgeous. I love how she [Ariana] ended it. I thought Justin did great. It was really beautiful.”
Unbelievably, her interviewers did not press her on Justin Bieber, which is both a sign that most people don’t care about Jelena anymore and that these particular journalists just DGAF about follow-up questions.
While like we said earlier, Selena’s statement about Justin doesn’t really mean anything, Jelena fans still low key lost their minds over it.
