Sarah Michelle Gellar Is Officially Appearing in a ‘Cruel Intentions’ TV Reboot
Sarah Michelle Gellar is returning to television as evil bitch Kathryn Merteuil for NBC’s television adaptation of Cruel Intentions.
The actress took to Instagram to share a photo of her next to director Roger Kumble and producer Neal Moritz on set during the first night filming for the original 1999 movie, alongside a more recent photo of her with them again, this time on set for the television show.
The show takes place 15 years later, with adult Kathryn using her manipulative powers (we prefer to think of them as “leadership skills”) to control Valmont International. She’s also controlling her dead brother Sebastian’s son with Annette Hargrove.
It doesn’t look as though the original movie’s other stars Ryan Phillipe and Reese Witherspoon will have anything to do with the show, but it’s cool, they’re busy, we get it.
#throwbackthursday (a bit early in Los Angeles) this picture was taken on the eve of production on the original #cruelintentions.
