New Guess Girl, Priyanka Chopra, Shares Top 5 Tips For Entering The Pageant World!
If the name Priyanka Chopra seems familiar, it’s no coincidence. The award winning singer/actress/model has been in the spotlight ever since she won Miss World back in 2000, becoming one of India’s most famous highly regarded figures. She also recently made history as the first Indian woman to ever become a Guess girl, a coveted position that iconic models like Claudia Schiffer and Adriana Lima also hold. We caught up with Priyanka to find out more about the new Guess girl..
Who are you favorite Guess models from the past?
Claudia Schiffer is my absolute favorite Guess model! Her face is stunning, and her campaigns are so amazing. She’s just so natural and beautiful. I’m a huge fan.
How many crowns do you have and do you ever wear them around the house?
I have two, one from when I won Miss India and the other from when I won Miss World. I won when I was 17! Do I wear them around the house? If I did…I’d never tell! 😉
Biggest perks of being Miss World?
Definitely the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others, and traveling the world to meet some of the most incredible and inspiring people.
What was it like shooting Guess for the first time?
It was such an incredible experience – I’ve always been inspired by Guess’ iconic campaigns and beautiful Guess Girls. Bryan Adams shot my campaign – he’s very popular for his music in India, but when I heard he was shooting the campaign I didn’t think it was the same Bryan Adams. It is amazing how multi-talented he is…a modern day renaissance man. He sang to me for inspiration, I taught him some dance moves – we listed to rap, rock and Hindi music. It was so much fun, and I think the photos really reflect that.
How do you feel about Honey Boo Boo?
What’s your favorite Sophia Loren movie?
Probably Arabesque or Houseboat
Favorite Indian spot in NYC?
Tamarind has great Indian food
What it is like being the first Indian woman to be a Guess girl?
It’s a bit surreal. What really excites me, more than the fame and the accolades, is being able to break barriers and do things that are different from what’s normally seen.
What are the top 5 tips you can give to girls who want to enter the pageant world?
Have fun, be humble, education is everything, use your success to help others, never give up.
What’re you doing for the holidays this year?
I’m taking a vacation…wooohoooo…for the first time in several years. I’m not sure where, but I can assure you that it will be by a beach!
