The results of an 11 year study on the health effects of watching excessive amounts of TV have got us questioning our Netflix & Chillin habits. The American Journal of Preventive Medicine, which has been collecting this data since 1995, concludes that around 3 hours of TV per day is high risk behavior: it can increase your chances of 8 diseases, including heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and even… suicide. Maybe this sounds like a scare tactic thought up by those anal parents who wouldn’t let their poor children watch an episode of Spongebob growing up. On the other hand, we can’t deny that sitting in bed for hours, munching on delicious yet unhealthy snacks while keeping up with your favorite characters isn’t exactly pro-fitness behavior.
