Over The Years: Icon Model Moments At Cannes Film Festival

Cannes may be about the premiering of some of the best works in the independent film realm, but it is always the supermodel fashion that attracts us to the French festival frenzy the most. This year marked the arrival of many first timers and fresh faces in both the film industry and the fashion world but no amount of new blood can steal the throne from some of the hottest fashion icons ever to grace the Cannes boardwalk.

Cindy Crawford attended The Great Gatsby 2013 Cannes Premiere in a Grecian inspired, gold collared, sweetheart gown by Roberto Cavalli, proving once again why she is one of the legendary fashion models of her generation.

Doutzen Kroes wore a skintight long sleeved white Calvin Klein gown to the premiere of Jimmy P at the 2013 Cannes festival, while simultaneously teaching everyone how to be one of the sexiest women around without showing hardly any skin.

Eva Herzigova: Dressed in a strapless, body hugging rose jeweled dress and matching collar for the 1997 festival, the Czech model turned heads despite being in competition with both Rock and Roll and Hollywood royalty.

Laetitia Casta: The French model made headlines dressed in a nearly backless, silver bandage dress at the 2004 festival.

Natasha Poly: Dressed in bombshell red lips and a navel grazing red, Roberto Cavalli halter with a seductive slit up the side, Poly was certainly the face of the day at the 2012 premiere of Cosmopolis.

Kendall Jenner: This year it was the second youngest Jenner sister who made her Cannes debut in a straight from the runway black and white, architectural Chanel gown for the 2014 premiere of Princess Grace of Monaco.

At the 2012 Biutiful premiere Naomi Campbell was every inch the bombshell in her custom made Roberto Cavalli, gold lame, champagne flute gown.
