My Little Pony or Hair Extensions? All the Rainbow Risks at Teen Choice Awards
It’s still summer and no one attending the Teen Choice Awards is trying to be a bummer, no matter how old (*cough* Britney). This year it looked like it was all about a color story, literally from head to toe, or in other words, from two-piece crop-top ensemble to fushia hair extensions. How do we feel about this? Everyone’s fashion security blanket is quintessentially black, or something remotely neutral, and it’s a refreshing change of pace to see so little of it on that sparkly-blue carpet. Maybe the stars were inspired?
Britney Spears proved that she’s still not that innocent and most definitely not too old for purple hair, debuting her new My-Little-Pony-esque locks last night while keeping the rest simple in a major cleavage-bearing Mikeal D, embroidered dress. Rita Ora sported the youthful version of this trend, pairing her magenta-fused blonde strands with a more androgynous style, a fire red pantsuit.
It seems that everyone was trying to take a risk this year, including the dudes, yet, it’s called a risk for a reason. You’re risking looking like an idiot. Vine-phenomenon, and still baby-faced, Nash Grier, stepped out in an unfortunetly frumpy canadian tuxedo for the Awards. Sorry Nash, you’re not Wiz Khalifa. Leave the fashion risks to ‘daddy’ from now on. Also, is that a mullet?
