Miley Cyrus Opens Up About Her Sexuality And Overcoming The Haters

Bad news for Miley Cyrus haters: the controversy-baiting, pasty-wearing, marijuana smoking, twerk queen has just launched a charitable foundation.  Not to be confused with Dirty Hippie, her hodgepodge art installation that featured a heavily-accessorized 5 foot bong, ‘Diary of A Dirty Hippie,’ her ongoing NSFW photo story for V magazine, or Wicked Hippie, her clothing line which sells poop emoji pasties and assorted face jewels, Miley’s Happy Hippie Foundation is an organization dedicated to “to rally young people to fight injustice facing homeless youth, LGBT youth and other vulnerable populations.”  Is it just us, or does Miley Cyrus have a hippie fixation?

Even though Happy Hippie has been around for a while now, yesterday, to mark her foundation’s official launch, Miley Cyrus held a Q&A on Facebook, where users got to ask her whatever they wanted for an hour, while she responded IN ALL CAPS.  Here’s a look at what we learned:

1. Launching Happy Hippie Foundation has been the proudest moment of her life

After the suicide of Leelah Alcorn, a young, homeless transgender woman, Miley decided it was time to stop saying she didn’t want to be another pop pop dumb dumb and start actually being a voice for LGBT homeless youth. In an interview with Out Magazine, Miley elaborated saying, “As you get older, you start to realize what’s happening around you. You realize, this isn’t the world I want to be living in. And you say, what do I really want my life to be about?”

2. They’ve actually done a lot so far

So far they’ve funded programs supporting arts and animals in the homeless community, donated funds and materials, started support groups for transgender women living with HIV in Los Angeles and San Francisco, spoke out against laws targeting the rights of LGBT, and advocated for increased funding in New York state budget to support homeless youth.  Oh, and they’ve also gained the support of high profile celebrities like Justin Bieber.

3. To celebrate, she’s bringing back her backyard concert series

Back in 2012, Miley Cyrus started her backyard sessions to show the world that there was more to her than just Hannah Montana, and since retro is beyond cool right now, she’s bringing the mini-concerts back.  For the first installment of #HappyHippiePresents, Miley sings a gritty duet with rock legend Joan Jett, and currently has Ariana Grande, Against Me!’s Laura Jane Grace and Melanie Safka waiting in the wings for the chance to lip-sync to a studio-recorded track in Cyrus’s backyard.  Good thing it’s for charity.

4. Speaking of that little angel, Miley thinks Ariana Grande is the sweetest BB ever.

Well, she certainly likes to be carried around like a baby.

5. She doesn’t want to label her sexuality

Even though most of her relationships have been highly public affairs with high profile men, in yesterday’s interview with the Associated Press, Miley revealed that all of her past relationships haven’t strictly been of the “straight, heterosexual” variety.  Clearly, her fans had a field day over he news.  However, for right now, Cyrus isn’t elaborating.  When asked today, “WHAT’S YOUR SEXUALITY??” the singer responded, “I AM OPEN =]”.  For now, I guess that’s as good as it gets.

6. She goes to the supermarket, just like everybody else

But she has her mom carry the bags.

7. She has a sure-fire way to stay positive when everybody around you has been drinking the haterade.

“Go in front of the mirror, blow a kiss to yourself…and repeat I love [insert your name here] 10 times in a row. Then take your arms, hug yourself and say I love [insert your name here] 10 times again.”

You can take the girl out of Disney, but you can’t take the Disney out of the girl.

8. While advocacy is awesome, she just can’t wait to be queen get back on tour

Because what the world really wants to know is where do you go when you’ve already f*cked an inflatable penis, made an entrance by sliding down your own tongue, and flown on a hot dog?
