Get A Sugar Rush From Lolli Swim Designer Vy Nyguen’s Inspiration Board
Based upon the belief that there’s no such thing as too sweet, Lolli Swimwear shows us what happens when the heat of the beach and the yummier things in life collide. This year is designer Vy Ngyuen’s fifth time at Swim Week, and the new collection is Lolli’s defining moment. It’s a personification of Ngyuen’s girly, flirty, playful, junk-food-lovin’ signature style. Think pastel colors, ice cream cone prints, and giant bows to accentuate a perky booty. From favorite childhood TV shows to model muses, Ngyuen gave us a deeper look at the inspiration behind the collection. Get ready for a sugar rush.

Define your aesthetic.
I put a little bit of my love for sunshine, sparkles and sprinkles into everything I do.
There are no rules.
Your favorite part of designing a collection?
Making girlies feel LOVELY when wearing the tiniest of clothing!
The hardest part of translating vision to reality?
Getting prints made in the way I’m trying to express them. It’s a battle against making yummy things look too realistic or too cartoony.
Your personal best bikini moment?
The first time I saw a cutie wearing Lolli at the beach! SO AWESOME!
Your dream bikini?
Britney Spears circa 2000 at the VMAS. Still OBSESSED. I would love to see a teeny tiny nude swimmy with a dust of sprinkles!
Your IRL muses?
Georgia May Jagger, Staz Lindes, and Anja Konstantinova. They look like faeries.
Your fictional muses?
Jem & the Holograms, Barbie and My Little Pony.
