Ceilidh Joy Garten, aka @LilMixedHunny, on Style, Beauty & NYC
LilMixedHunny is the half Korean, half British Instagram sensation, model, and badass video vixen.
We caught up with her to discuss style – because really, she has the best wardrobe you’ve ever seen, beauty and what’s in store for 2016.
What is your full name?
Ceilidh Joy Garten, pronounced “Caileigh.”
Where are you from?
New York, born and raised.
Brooklyn or Manhattan?
Alexander Digenova Shorts, Vintage Top
Subway or uber?
What music are you into right now?
I really like the new Kanye. I downloaded Tidal just for the new Kanye. I also love Rihanna and I listen to a lot of Lil Wayne.
What’s a day in the life of LilMixedHunny?
I say “yes” to a lot of shoots and I try to make a lot of connections but an ideal day is staying home and hanging out. I like to cook and I’m a very one-on-one person.
What’s your go-to outfit?
Big tees and flared pants – larger vintage tees specifically.
What are your fave products?
Velvet Teddy by MAC lipstick and all Glossier products.
What is your favorite thing to do in the city?
Going out with friends and going to museums. I still use my old student ID just to get in for free.
How do you relax?
Baths and exercise.
What’s one long-term goal of yours?
To do some acting in any sort of film – whether its something small or big – acting is something I really enjoy. I also want to travel a lot.
How has 2016 treated you so far?
Pretty good – getting a lot done but not working excessively.
Congratulations on being a Miss Sake 2016 finalist, can you tell me a little about what’s going on with that?
I really like japan. My boyfriend is Japanese and I spent some time there. I knew nothing about the pageant but they hit me up and I entered because I was asked to and then all of a sudden they contacted me again and told me I was “too provocative to be a finalist”. That was frustrating because the whole point of the pageant in 2016 was to aim towards progressiveness.
I contacted the person who claimed I was “too provocative” and had a conversation and now I’m a finalist again which is really exciting – I get my own kimono.
Saw you in The Weeknd’s “In The Night” video, how was that experience?
Abel is really cool and nice. He’s really nice on set, he’s a really hardworking person and Bella is such a dream. Bottom line –they’re just awesome to work with and be around.
