Kendrick’s Keeping Us Obsessed, Here’s His New Video

It’s time to forget about the Drake mixtape—Kendrick Lamar’s new album, To Pimp A Butterfly is strange, uncomfortable to listen to, and an amazing f***-you to those of us who were sure he fell off. Taylor Swift agrees (which is also notably weird):

More importantly than Taylor Swift’s review, however, is the new video for “King Kunta”. Lamar premiered the video on a billboard in Times Square (fittingly, on one also advertising fellow Comptonite Dr. Dre’s “Beats” headphones). The video displays Kendrick (looking better than ever) surrounded by friends and his community, but rapping towards the camera, and his audience. “Bitch, where were you when I was walkin’?” he asks us, and I can’t help feeling ashamed—I doubted you, Kendrick, but I’ll never do it again.
