Kendall Jenner Is 19 And Already One Of The Highest-Paid Models In The World

Life isn’t fair. Although most of us learn this at an early age, it’s a message most of us find ourselves re-learning on at least a weekly basis. This week, was no exception. Yesterday, Forbes released their 2015 list of the world’s highest-paid models, and wouldn’t you know, 19-year-old Kendall Jenner made the list after earning a whopping $4 million dollars since last June. The media may be focused on Kylie and Cait, but Kendall is one Jenner not to underestimate.

Coming in at #16, Kendall Jenner is the youngest model to make the list, and one of only two newcomers to make the cut. At the top of the pack, of course, was lingerie model (and all-around perfect human being) Gisele Bundchen who may have made $6 million than she did last year, but still walked away with a respectable $44 million. To put that into perspective, not only did Gisele make $35 million more than the next highest-paid models (Cara Delevingne and Adriana Lima tied at $9), but she makes 5 times what her husband, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, does.  Oh, and it should probably be mentioned that this is Gisele’s 9th consecutive time topping the list.  She’s basically as untouchable as her husband is.  Only, you know, without all the scandal attached.

Helping to make her debut possible, this year alone Kendall booked high-profile campaigns with Fendi, Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs, Givenchy, and Balmain, walked the runway for Chanel, Versace, Givenchy, Michael Kors and Diane Von Furstenberg, and served as brand ambassador for Estee Lauder.

However, it’s not just her modeling jobs that make Kendall Jenner one of the wealthiest models in the world, it’s her 58 million fans.  Cara Delevingne has been quoted saying social media helped make her a supermodel, and we’re sure Kendall feels the same way.  Only whereas Cara has 19 million followers on Instagram, Kendall Jenner has 36.4 million. Given the amount of people dedicated to keeping up with their favorite Kardashian, any campaign that Kendall stars in is automatically going to reach millions, making her a very desirable hire. As Ivan Bart, President at IMG Models explains, “We’re getting to a point where image visibility is more potent – it’s not just the money you earn.”

If you weren’t taking Kendall seriously before, now would be a good time to start.
