This New Modular Vibrator Is Changing The Way We Buy Sex Toys

Little known fact–you might be smitten with your vibrator’s skin like texture, bright colors, or discrete and artful shape but, the most expensive part of a vibrator to manufacture is its motor. And it’s that expensive motor that ends up costing you more dollars when you are looking to buy a high quality, high power, rechargeable toy. Creating a cheaper vibrator usually means skimping out on the motor. That’s why less expensive vibrators usually mean less bang for your buck…literally (sorry, I just had to).

But, the folks at Je Joue recently teamed up with the pleasure experts at Babeland to release a new type of sex toy that’s completely changing the game.  They’ve detached the motor from the “toy” part, allowing you to buy a powerful, multi pattern, three speed, rechargeable motor–and then pair it with multiple attachments that are sold separately and in kits. With the Ooh series, you can build a toy box that will serve all your needs, like g-spot stimulation, cock rings, and external clitoral stimulation, without having to drop $75 to try out a new toy. Once you buy the motor, you can collect all the interchangeable modules, or start with just one to get a feel for the power this tiny motor has.

Okay, okay– so that’s the run down on the design and concept but how do these toys perform in the bedroom (or, you know, whatever room you decide to use them in)?

After trying out the all the modules (and the motor), I was pretty impressed. The motor packs a powerful punch that went above and beyond my expectations given the fact that it can fit inside my closed fist. The texture of the attachments had a high end feel, despite being a mid range toy, with a smooth silky texture that slides effortlessly across skin. And with their abstract, sculpture-like shapes, pastel colors, and the unassuming small white motor, the toy is super discrete and easy to store. “Those look like easter eggs,” my boyfriend quipped when he walked into our room and saw the attachments sprawled out on the bed. “What are those?”

“I need you to put on this cock ring so we can try it out.” He stares at me, confused, still not realizing the pastel shapes on the bed are contraptions that we (okay, mostly me) will be rubbing our genitals against for the next hour or so.

“It’s for work, okay? I really need you to do this. Get naked.”

“Oh shit. Okay.” he mutters, taking off his shirt. It’s not the first time I’ve had to do “homework” with him before writing an article.

We both gave Je Joue’s Ooh series a 10/10.
