What is it about hot bartenders? Is it their mixology skills? Their chiseled forearms as they pour your liquor? Or is it that they’re always a bit of a mystery?

How did you end up working here?
It was the summertime. I’m actually from Staten Island and I always wanted a job in the city. I was walking by, I had a tank top and a beanie on, and I saw there were people sitting at the bar so I came inside. I had some resumes on me, and I went up and said ‘hey, you guys looking for a bartender?’ and they said no, and then I turned around to walk out and the manager called me back and said ‘just leave your resume.’ They never called me back, so I came back a week later and I said I was meeting someone in the area for lunch, which was kind of bullshit. So they sat me down, I filled out paperwork. I found out a few months later that the manager actually never read my resume he just thought my Japanese tattoos were cool.

What’s the craziest thing that you’ve seen happen at Bagatelle?
It varies by weekend. I’ve seen tables spend up to $80,000, every weekend it’s something new. Once these chicks were sucking raspberries off of my fingers, and one of the women said, ‘it’s her fiftieth birthday!” I said, ‘Wow, you’re 50 years old and you’re a hoe.”

Did she get mad?
No, she asked if I was going to come f*** her and her friends later.

What’s your signature drink?
I do a lot of different things, I think what I’m really well known for is old-fashioneds, I make all different kinds of variations, and people tell me they like mine the best supposedly.

Have you ever hooked up with a patron?
I’m not going to say I haven’t done it, it’s just something that I don’t like doing. I don’t drink myself, I stopped drinking about two years ago, and at the end of the day if I do end up hooking with somebody at the bar they end up really drunk at the end of the night and we kind of don’t vibe that well. I love getting people f***ed up, don’t get me wrong. But it’s kind of hard to be on that level.

What’s an example of something funny that women have said to you at the bar?
We are a french place, I once had a girl say something in French to me that I later found out means “I want you inside me right now.” I’ve had married women tell me that they’re away on vacation and that their husbands will never know, the usual. A lot of things about anal sometimes too… but I guess that comes with the territory.

What type of girls do you usually go for?
I’d like to be witty and say “I ain’t got no type, bad bitches are the only thing that I like,” but that’s a little cliche at this particular moment. I guess what I particularly like is someone comfortable with themselves, someone confident, but not cocky. Someone that likes to have a good time, but gets shit done. I like women that can take care of themselves but would let me take care of them.

What’s your biggest turn off?
My biggest turn off is a woman that thinks she deserves everything just because she’s attractive. There’s so much more than just looks.

What’s your biggest turn on?
I guess I wish I had something more freaky inside the vault, but I don’t. I guess it’s just someone that really shows they want to be with me. My last relationship was a couple years ago and I was raised in a family where I cook, I do everything, and it’s just about appreciation. Because you can tell when someone really wants to be with you and when it’s just bullshit.

Favorite sex position?
It depends on the height of the woman. I skipped a couple grades in school so I was always the tiny one in my class, so if I’m with a tiny woman I like to feel like I can just throw them around and place them how I want. It depends, I think mostly as long as I’m dominating. Whether it’s missionary and I’m on top or it’s from behind and I’m on top. I don’t mind a girl riding me, but I like to be in control.

When you’re not working, where can we find you?
I’m gonna be at a Jazz club opening next month uptown, so I’ve been there a lot doing stuff. I live in Bed Stuy, I love just chilling around my neighborhood. I don’t know… I guess I like not being found.

What are your favorite jams to get you pumped for a long shift?
Well it’s one of two different things. I either like old-school house music- like real house, not this EDM bullshit that kids listen to today. Or I like trap music, I like to think I’m pleasantly hood sometimes.

If you have a really good night at work, what are you splurging on?
Three things I really like: I love a good meal, I like new clothes, and I love chunky leather and metal jewelry.

What’s your favorite place to shop?
I don’t have particular stores I like, I’m more of a handmade vintage type of person. I usually wear plain white tees and jeans that I rip myself. But, jewelry I have some friends that design jewelry that I like. I’m more like that thrift shop, flea market type of person.

Favorite place to eat?
My favorite food in the entire world is Ramen. I know it sounds crazy and so simple, but there are a few places that are late-night pop-ups for Ramen that I go to, and especially working late-nights, I think I’m a fan of the 24 hour late night eats just because those are the hours that I’m awake.

What are your tips for a girl to get a bartenders attention?
Say “hello” and ask how their night is going. Sometimes if I’m working a double shift on a saturday, I’ll serve over 500 guests. The fact of the matter is that most of them come up to me and treat me like a servant. It kind of sucks too because back in the day bartenders, and mixology, it was such an honorable job. If someone comes up to me and genuinely asks how my night is going I will take care of them all night. I don’t care how much money they spend, I don’t care how much they tip, it’s just more of a respect thing with me.
