Here’s Your Monthly Makeup Trend Report From Designer Yasmin B

Want to spend 2016 using cutting edge makeup techniques? Morrocco born, NYC raised Yasmin B might be a fashion designer, but she has a not-so-secret talent with the makeup brush. “One of my resolutions is to be more daring with my looks. I want to try colorful smokeys and have more fun with daring lip colors! I also want to try makeup brands with natural ingredients,” Yasmin told us. Here’s how she’s doing it.

Lip Color Combos To Try:

1. The nudest nude: Oak Lip Liner by MAC and Pure Hollywood Lipstick by Anastasia Beverly Hills.

I opt for this neutral lip to soften an intense eye look.

2. The flesh tone: 3C Lip Liner and 3C Lipstick by Make Up Forever.

This has been my daily pick for years! My absolute favorite combination, it’s the best at making your lips appears fuller.

3.The ultimate burgundy: Nightmoth by MAC topped with Aria by Stila

I have made all my friends addicted to this sexy shade and I wear it during multiple seasons!

Shopping List:

EYES: I usually don’t wear eye shadow on a daily basis, so I am currently just looking for a great eyeliner to create my wing with. I recently discovered the Smashbox Photo Angle Pure Pigment Gel Liners.

COMPLEXION: For my complexion I am always looking for a foundation and powder that not only look great in person, but that also look amazing on camera and film (aka HD products). My all time favorites are Make Up Forever Ultra HD and 15 Hour Hydrating by Smashbox for foundation. Pretty Pink and Banana Power by Ben Nye both photograph very well.

LIPS: As far as lips go, I love wearing lip pencils by themselves and I’m always looking for new drugstore dupes generally in the same nude/brown color family. I recently discovered Maybelline’s liners in Nude, Rose and Raisin and I am obsessed!

Splurge On:

I would definitely say put your money towards a great quality foundation and setting powder. I like to keep those and anything else I use for the complexion high end and as natural as possible. My gel liners and mascaras are almost always from the drugstore because they all do the same job. When it comes to lip products, it’s a mixture of both.

Pamper Yourself With:

One crucial part of my routine is skincare. I started this new year by picking up brand new products. One of my resolutions has been to exclude as many chemicals from my routine as I possibly can, so I opted for Lush Cosmetics. The brand is all natural and they don’t test on animals! I feel pampered every time I use the Tea Tree Oil Toner, Cosmetic Lad moisturizer, and Don’t Look At Me Mask.
