Galore Fashion Week Recap – #NYFW Week 1 F/W14
Fashion week is not even half way done but there are already so many great shows to review, take a look at out week 1 recap of some of our favorite designers.
MARA HOFFMAN
Mara Hoffman’s Fall 2014 show kept her tradition of beautiful prints and sexy maxi dresses. Prints included a celestial inspired motif, while non printed pieces included geometric shapes, and deep v cuts. My favorite of the show, gilded Cleopatra inspired gowns. The best!
PRABAL GURUNG
Deep rich reds took over Prabal’s runway, so get ready to keep it spicy this Fall. Extreme deep V’s were everywhere from blazers to dresses, so get ready to stock up on that double sided tape. Also seemed like this show is in the running for unforgettable runway moments, they had a streaker mid-way runway!
CHRISTIAN SIRIANO
We time traveled at this show to the 1940s. Amazing Art Deco references and elegant silhouettes paired with gorgeous hats. Christian Siriano’s collection demands that we all revisit a more ladylike time.
ALEXANDER WANG
The designer went somewhere he’s never gone before. The technicolor world. From neon pinks, greens, purples and electric blues this collection had a candy bowl of flavor. Most included leather cut outs, which he does so well. But this wasn’t for girly girls, this collection commands attention.
HERVE LEGER
Glamour darling!! Max Azria’s classic bandage dresses took a twist with some studding, crystals and buckles. The gorgeous outerwear will make you want to take a holiday in the Swiss Alps.
DKNY
What’s not to love about the quintessential NY staple DKNY. From using downtown NY fixtures (and Galore Girls) as models like Brandee Brown, Hannah Bronfman and Chelsea Leyland; to having classic all black yankee caps, it feels like New York is celebrating the youth and the streets once again. A few more notable models rapper Angel Haze, artist Julianne Huxtable and Galore fave Adrej Pejic.
