Galore Crush: Hot Guys Explain Football To This Clueless Chick

What do I know about football? Hm…..other than my 20 minutes playing flag football in middle-school gym, a career sort-of cheerleading at fraternity football games, and my knowledge of how good dudes look in tight pants? Not much. I mean, it’s always a good excuse to start drinking early in the day and cheat on your diet with some buffalo wings, but I figured it was time to try to figure out a little more about football in time for Super Bowl Sunday. So I called in a few hot experts to give me the gridiron lowdown so I can be fully prepped for all the action in between commercials on Sunday.

Would you ever date a chick who didn’t understand football?
Definitely. I think the best relationships are the ones where each person has a diverse set of interests. You can tell how much someone is into a relationship by their willingness to try to learn or do something outside of their comfort zone solely because it is important to you. And, its that time you spend outside of your comfort zone where you really learn about yourself.

So no, football knowledge is not a prerequisite for me at all. If I share too much in common with a girl it gets boring. For me, its more about showing an interest because of the importance the sport played in my life and development.

How would you describe football to your girl?
In most cases a girl will bring up that I played football. I say “Yeah” and kinda leave it at that. If she pursues the topic, I’ll get a little more complex with her. I will start talking about the basics…like the rules of the game and what position I played. But, I have three sisters so I know by a girl’s body language and facial expressions when she is either bored out of her mind or has no idea what I am talking about. So, usually a subject change is in order then. If she asks enough questions, I will literally start drawing plays on dinner napkins. And if she is still into after that…she is coming back with me to Chicago to tough it out in the cold and watch a Bears’ game.

What’s something that most people don’t seem to understand about football, and can you explain it to us?

Out of all the sports I have played throughout my life, I think the sense of team is the greatest in football. It teaches a lot about how far you can push yourself and the adversity you can come back from. It sounds cliche to those outside the sport, but the things I learned playing such a team-oriented, physical sport have carried through to many aspects of my life. I have also made some of my closest friends on the football field.

What’s your food and drink of choice for Super Bowl Sunday?
Thats a tough question, because in high school I was rocking my mom’s homemade chili dip and a Corona that one of my uncles had slipped me. At that time, I felt like that was living.

In college, I was all about quantity rather than quality. My cooking skills are pretty weak so ordering out in mass was the only option. Super bowls usually ended with wings, cheese pizza, and all you can drink Natty Lights. Those things separately are pretty terrible, but when you combine them…its magical.

This is going to be my first super bowl as a full blown adult. I think my friends and I will be heading to Brooklyn for a house party. I would like to tell you that there will be fine, craft beers and fresh seafood there, but most likely its pizza, wings, and Natty Light. Some things never change, but thats kinda the way I like it.

What team do you root for?
Chicago Bears fan for life because I was raised on it. Gotta stay loyal to the hometown team.

Would you ever date a chick who didn’t understand football?
Of course I would, who am I kidding? I know I don’t understand The Bachelor or Real Housewives, and I wouldn’t want that held against me. We all have our different passions, so she should understand my love for the football just like I understand her love for Romantic Comedies or Reality Shows.

How would you describe football to said girl?
Patience is key here. I would start out with the main objectives (team that scores the most will win the game), then work our way up to how a team scores, basic rules, offense, defense, special teams and the different positions. If she doesn’t understand everything, that’s okay, it’s the thought that counts and her effort would be very appreciated.

What’s something that most people don’t seem to understand about football, and can you explain it to us?
Everyone asks “Why is it called football, when they rarely use their feet??” My only explanation is that the game comes from a mix of Soccer and Rugby, and they just never changed the name. But, if we are being honest, I don’t even understand why they didn’t name it something more fitting.

What’s your food and drink of choice for Super Bowl Sunday?
Wings are a must for the big game, but put me in front of the grill and I’m happy! Grilled veggies, burgers, hot dogs, and more will be on my plate.

What team do you root for?
I’m from Northern Virginia, so I’m a born and raised Washington sports fan. Always have been and always will be. Hail to the Redskins!

Would you ever date a chick who didn’t understand football?
Yeah. I don’t think I’ve ever dated a chick who did understand football.
How would you describe football to your girl?
One team has the ball and they’re trying to get from one end of the field to the other to score, the other team is on defense and they’re trying to stop them. You can run it or you can throw it, throwing is when you throw the ball because it helps you get farther on the field, but the downside is that the other team could catch it. Running is more secure, but it’s harder to get bigger chunks of yard. Quarterbacks are the captain and “the stud.” Defense tackles whoever has the ball.
What’s something that most people don’t seem to understand about football, and can you explain it to us?
There’s kind of a science to football, but the average person thinks the players are out there just wailing each other and being rough and throwing testosterone around. Until you learn how to play, you won’t realize that it’s full of strategy and more than just brutes beating each other up. Most people also don’t know that Tom Brady has a tiny dick.
What’s your food and drink of choice for Super Bowl Sunday?
Yuengling, because Super Bowl is a holiday, so you gotta spend a little more than on your usual shitty college beer. For food, definitely buffalo wings, buffalo chicken dip, that’s gotta be on the menu.
What team do you root for?
Eagles, of course. But for the Super Bowl, the Seahawks.

Would you ever date a chick who didn’t understand football?
I don’t think I could ever date a chick that didn’t understand football because it is such a big part of my life. She would need to understand what I do to truly understand me on a spiritual level.
How would you describe football to your girl?
The game is simple, tackle the guy who has the ball and don’t let the other team stick it in your endzone.
What’s something that most people don’t seem to understand about football, and can you explain it to us?
People don’t seem to realize how much of a team sport football really is, in that you need all of your teammates to do their job on every play to be successful. Also, the best looking guys play defense.
What’s your food and drink of choice for Super Bowl Sunday?
I gotta go with buffalo wings, and champagne to pop after the game of course.
What team do you root for?
My favorite team is the New York Jets, so I’ll have to be rooting for the Seahawks on Sunday.
