Fun Drinks You Can Toast To This Summer

It’s officially summer—happy solstice!!! Time to buy some my fav 15 SPF bronzer—that makes me extra mocha caramel-y—to repurpose old sheets for picnic blankets, and attend every single free movie-in-the-park screening. Usually I’ll suggest some really good smoothie recipes or healthy foods to try out, but how about we celebrate with some (alcoholic and nonalcoholic) drinks!?

1. Chai Coconut Bubble Tea

What you’ll need: dried boba, honey, chai tea bags, sweetened coconut milk

I’ve said this before, but I swear by coconuts. Maybe it’s the islander in me, but whatever the case may be, I think you should definitely try this recipe.

2. Mexican Horchata

What you’ll need: white long-grain rice, water, cinnamon sticks, white sugar, milk, vanilla.

I’m obsessed with cinnamon, so I automatically loved this. Try it out!

3. Mango Lassi

What you’ll need: plain yogurt, milk, mango pulp form fresh mangos, sugar

I always get mango lassis when I go to Indian restaurants. Now you can make this at home!

4. Non-Alcoholic Juicy Jelp

What you’ll need: ice, pineapple juice, orange juice, freshly squeezed lime juice, mint

Pineapple, lime, AND coconut?!?!?!? Does it get any better than this? I don’t know: find out yourself.

5. Strawberry Basil Lemonade

What you’ll need: water, basil leaves, lemons, strawberries, honey or agave, ice.

Sure, basil and strawberries might sound like a weird combo, but it looks hella delicious. Get the recipe here.

6. Rosemary Grapefruit Smash

What you’ll need: rosemary simple syrup, water, sugar, rosemary leaves, club soda, bourbon, grapefruit juice.

I recently got into grapefruit because my stepdad is obsessed with them. Literally. There is an arsenal of grapefruit in my fridge. But this looks great: here’s the recipe.

7. Caipirinha

What you’ll need: lime, sugar, ice, cachaça (sugar cane brandy)

Maybe I’m partial because I’m currently learning Portuguese and everyone thinks I’m Brazilian. But this is a classic, so here it goes.

8. Fresh Mint Margarita

What you’ll need: mint leaves, kosher salt, crushed ice, good ass tequila, freshly squeezed lime juice, triple sec.

Fancy shmancy. Get the recipe here.

9. Piña Colada

What you’ll need: Malibu rum, coconut cream, pineapple juice, pineapple wedges

I love piña coladas. You should too.

10. Strawberry Punch

What you’ll need: strawberries, pineapple, pineapple syrup, lime juice, simple syrup, white rum.

Though my least favorite flavor in a carton of neapolitan ice cream, strawberries can be the way to go sometimes. So try this out.
