Feel The Burn With Megan Taylor’s 15 Minute HIIT Wonder Woman Workout
HIIT— high intensity interval training— is the fit blogger’s favorite way to burn fat and build strength while improving endurance and heart health. HIIT means you work your body as hard as possible for short stretches, with periods of low activity or rest in between. The start/stop method kicks your body into fat burning mode and increases metabolism without compromising muscle mass–a benefit which continues for 24 hours after completing the workout. It’s efficient and doesn’t require any gear (except a jump rope), making it perfect for the girl on the go. Fitness guru Megan Taylor shared her favorite 3-step HIIT workout with Galore. Repeat the routine five times to get the body of a living Wonder Woman.
1. 30-seconds of tuck jumps. Jump from standing and tuck your legs in mid-air. This works your core and is beneficial for leg and heart health, and builds your booty the same as a squat. Since they use the whole leg, they’re a great calorie burner. Rest for 30 seconds.
2. 30 second sprint. Short, high intensity sprints are great for aerobic health. They give the same cardiovascular benefits as a long run by improving endurance, but don’t take up as much time. Rest for 30 seconds.
3. 30-second jump rope. You can take the rope with you virtually anywhere, and in a 15-20 minute jump rope session, you burn as many calories as you do running an 8 minute mile. With this workout, you’re only jumping for 30 seconds at a time, which is lower impact on the knees, ankles, and hips than jogging, and gets the same job done. Rest for 30 seconds.
