People Care More About Beyonce, But Earth Day Is Still Trending Worldwide
As you’ve probably already gathered, today isn’t just Wednesday, April 22nd, it’s also Earth Day. Celebrated in 192 countries annually, Earth Day is the perfect excuse to eat lunch outside, buy a plant that you’ll forget about in a week, and take a selfie with that tall, dark and handsome tree that lives across the street.
But Earth Day is also a weird day, because to be honest, most of us care way more about Beyonce than we do about saving the environment. Sure, we don’t want global warming to kill all of the polar bears/us, but it’s hard to wrap your mind around something as intangible as climate change, let alone do something larger than buying a refillable water bottle about it.
The environment just isn’t as sexy as Beyonce – in fact, it’s kind of boring. It keeps us alive and all, but when has it ever surprise-released an album or made out with Madonna during a concert?
