DJ Pamela Katz Shares Her Ultimate NYFW Playlist

As NYFW starts to really get going, odds are you’re running out of music to keep your energy levels up. You can only listen to the new Rihanna so many times in a row, right?

So we asked Pamela Katz — model, DJ, and stylist extraordinaire — for some tips to keep you (and your hair) ready to go all week. She provided us with a fire playlist embedded below, plus some style tips.

What kind of music do you predict will be dominating Fashion Week this season?

Electronic, dance, hip hop, tropical house.

Wait, what’s an example of tropical house?

Coldplay’s “Adventure of a Lifetime” remixed by Matoma.

What’s your favorite thing to wear while DJing?

When I am home just having fun DJing for my fiancé and bulldog, I’ll be in some sexy PJs by Eberjey, but otherwise I keep my DJ attire as classic and parallel with my style as I can. I am happiest when my hair is natural and I have my leather pants/boots on.

What would you never wear while DJing?

I would never wear a mouse ears or some wacky costume. Pretty much anything that takes me out of character. I am most myself when I look and feel like myself. Anyone who truly knows me knows that my hair is a big part of that.

Your hair is incredible. What’s the one product you can’t live without?

I use so many products to maintain my mane. But I am a sucker for certain L’Oreal products, so let me give them some well-deserved credit. I swear by their Kérastase Revitalizing Shampoo and Kérastase Essential Balm Treatment for my shower hour.

What’s your go-to party outfit?

My go-to party outfit is a groovy pair of Reformation bell bottoms, a sexy low cut Theory blouse, my staple black Alexander Wang blazer, a Free People skinny scarf or RRL necktie, and a pair of Rag & Bone or Maje booties to kick it off.

What are you most excited about this Fashion Week?

Meeting new people who inspire me. I am excited to learn. I am also excited to let the world get a taste of my music preference and hopefully making people smile & feel good through it. I think music is so important so I love being the one to provide it to others.
