DJ Alix Brown Takes China Town In Jill Stuart’s FW 2015 Collection
We love when ready-to-wear comes to life, like in this editorial photoshoot of DJ/model Alix Brown by Kristin Gallegos. That’s the way every day life should be: high fashion everywhere, even on a grimey city street. Thankfully, Jill Stuart feels the same way. Check out the editorial to see just how she’s bridging the gap between high fashion and high street.
Between sporadic dumpling runs and blasting Yoko Ono’s ‘N.Y Noodle Town,’ Brown spent a chic day around NYC’s China Town and The Roxy Hotel wearing nothing but Jill Stuart’s Fall 2015 collection, and we want to steal every.single.outfit. Matching skirt/jacket combos in bold prints? Don’t mind if we do. What about the deliciously silky, dark suede poncho? Yes please. The thigh skimming skirts could move from the streets of downtown to a penthouse party within seconds. They’re edgy, undeniably cool, and perfectly of-the-moment.
With the bangs, winged eyeliner, thigh highs and heeled sandals, Brown’s doing a 70’s it-girl thing, a modern Farrah Fawcett. The 70’s have become fashion’s “hot” decade as of late. Even Brown’s on-set playlist was full of throwback jams, like Funkadelic’s ‘Can You Get To That’ and William Onyeabor’s ‘Atomic Bomb’. But these looks would be trendy in any and every decade. If you’re like us and can’t get enough, you can shop the shoot and the rest of the collection at Jill Stuart.
