Boys Ruin Your Day? Don’t Fret…
We’ve all been burned by a-holes in our past. Unless you met your one true love in high school and then you two ended up getting married after college and now have children in the suburbs or whatever.
But anyway, there is a much bigger issue I am seeing girls face today. And I’m not calling anyone out on it because God knows I’m f***ing guilty of it too. What the hell am I talking about though? Insecurity.
Growing up I learned that you’ll have kiss a few frogs before you meet your prince, but holy crap, I didn’t think I’d have to meet so many frogs.
Maybe it’s just the guys in the city or dating in general, but I feel like girls have turned into those sheltered animals. You know the dogs who are crazy and ruthless because their past owners mistreated them? And whimper when their new ones try to show them love and affection? I see myself as a pomeranian though. With some cute bows in my hair and shiz.
But I’m getting off topic.
What I’m trying to say is that the assholes of our past may have made our hearts a little colder, our emotions a little more reserved, and our trust a little more difficult, but they should not impact our standards. Putting up with guys who suck is something every girl goes through at least once, but they should not affect our thoughts on what we think we deserve.
You shouldn’t accept bullshit from anyone, especially the person you’re dating. I know a bunch of friends, myself included, who have been hurt and it only makes them see themselves as being the problem. Whether they think they’re not pretty enough, not skinny enough, not smart enough, etc.
But you are and you’ll find someone who thinks you’re the baddest bitch around. But until then, it’s important to remember that confidence is hot as hell. And even if you don’t feel confident, it never hurts to fake it until you make it.
