Beyoncé & Topshop are Teaming Up for a New Athleisure Line
Hot off a collaboration with Kendall and Kylie Jenner, British fashion retailer Topshop are finally setting a release date to an announcement they made a year ago. Queen Bey and Topshop are set to give the world a line of #flawless athletic line in April 2016. The UK brand has previously worked with names like Kate Moss and Christopher Kane, and has gradually hopping into the sportswear trend. This new line actually isn’t a collaboration, as we are used to seeing, but actually a 50/50 partnership between Beyoncé and Topshop, the resulting brand named Parkwood Topshop Athletic Ltd. Beyonceé released a statement saying ” ”I could not think of a better partner as I continue to grow the Parkwood business. I have always loved Topshop for its fashion credentials and forward thinking. Working with its development team to create and produce a technical and fashion-led collection is exciting, and I’m looking forward to participating in all aspects of this partnership.”, while her partner, Topshop chairman Sir Philip Green, matched her enthusiasm adding on, “[c]reating a partnership with Beyoncé, one of the most hard-working and talented people in the world, who spends many hours of her life dancing, rehearsing and training is in a unique opportunity to develop this category.” As for the actual collection we can expect a line of high-performance but stylish leggings and leotards, appropriate for, according to Green, “women who go to yoga or the health club, as well as those who just want to look as if they do.”, and probably women who just want to look as bomb as Queen Bey. While it might seem tortuous to have to wait a few more months, at least it gives us time to get down your favorite Beyoncé routine, we suggest “7/11”.
